6-month update

This afternoon Jack had his 6-month check-up and he is growing like a healthy 6-month should be.  His current stats are: 17.5 pounds and 27 1/2 inches long. He is average for his weight but in the top 10% for his length. Here is a picture of Jack being measured.

Are we having fun yet?

Last weekend we went to Leipers Fork for a chili cook-off festival. It was a little cold and Jack wasn’t so sure this was a great idea. But after the initial cold shock he seemed to enjoy the event.

This road leads somewhere great

My sister Meredith was somewhere in the mountains of Tennessee when they spotted this street sign. And while Jack spells his middle name “Eliot” it is nice to see people already honoring our little boy. There is a rumor there is a Jack Eliot Elementary School being built and that President Obama is considering a Jack Eliot holiday. He is so young and yet so accomplished. We are certainly proud.

On the go!

While Jack isn’t crawling yet, he has a new walker on loan from his older 2-year old friend Cameron that allows him to scoot around the house. He doesn’t move around a lot but enough to give this almost 6-month old an exciting sense of freedom and independence.

OktoberFest

This afternoon we went to Germantown in Downtown Nashville for Oktoberfest. Lots of live music, food and street vendors. Jack seemed to enjoy the festive environment as you can tell by his happy face.

Spending time with Grammy

Anne’s mom, Sue Goldsmith (Grammy) is visiting all of her kids and their families. Her journey started by flying into Nashville and spending a few days with the Horch family. She left yesterday for Madison, Alabama to see her son, Rob and his family and then onto Atlanta to see Amy and her family. She will finish the trip by coming back to Nashville to spend a few more days with us. In all, she will see two daughters, one son, two-son-in-laws, one-daughter-in-law and eight grandchildren. Not a bad trip.

Hangin’ with Henry

Anne took Jack over to Henry’s house yesterday for some hangin’ out time. It’s fun to see them together since they were born only hours apart. As you can see Jack loves to smile and play wherever he is.
