Non-pregnancy related strange but true tidbit

Earlier this week, Anne and I were flipping through the channels and came to a documentary on the movie “Cool Hand Luke”. Anne said she had really liked that movie and I said I had never seen it.

“Oh, we’ll have to rent it.” she replied.

Last night, I swung by Blockbuster to look for a movie. While I was browsing I had remembered there was a movie Anne wanted us to see so I gave her a call.

“Cool Hand Luke” she said as she prepared one of my sister’s new chicken recipes.

So I found it on the shelves and it was free since in September all non-new releases are free.

We came home and watched it. I thought it was an odd, slow-paced movie and it wasn’t as good as Anne had remembered.

Paul Newman’s character Luke dies at the end. When I woke up this morning I found out that Paul Newman had actually died yesterday. Just thought that was odd.

And now we return to your regularly scheduled programming…

  1. There are probably thousands of “Pauls” out there whose Moms and Dads watched Newman’s movies. As you walk through this naming process, perhaps we should monitor your cinematic selections. “Hannibal Horch”…..”Hanna Horch…” Not so much!
Paul Newman’s blue eyes and love for Joanne Woodward thrilled an entire generation..or more.

  4. The recipe was good. Anne was a little nervous about the chicken being under cooked but overall it was good. Keep the recipes coming, Heather!
